Monica Place Waterloo offers a Residential Program for pregnant young women and for new moms and their babies who are in need of safe and supportive housing. Monica Place can house up to 18 mothers and babies.
Pre-Natal Residence is a group living setting and is staffed by residential counsellors 24 hours/ 7 days per week.
Young woman may join us at any time during pregnancy.
Expectant moms actively design the way they wish to receive care. Care plans are individualized for each new mom-to-be and designed to focus on their strengths. Expectant and new moms must participate in structured program activities which may include:
- Work or pre-employment preparation
- Group activities
- Medical appointments
- Counselling (individual and/or family/relationship)
- Health & Wellness sessions
- Pre-natal classes
- Physician-supervised exercise
- Outings (ie. visiting local attractions, movies, sporting events)
While most of the young women in the residence program are planning to parent, we welcome and support those planning adoption for their child as well. Programming is individualized to suit each individual mother’s needs.
